Accessibility Statement
West Law Firm’s commitment to making zachwestlaw.com accessible to everyone.
Our commitment
West Law Firm is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to the legal information they need after an injury, and we work continuously to improve the experience for all visitors.
Conformance status
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG 2.1 is the international standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Our site is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address those areas.
Measures we have taken
Recent improvements to support accessibility on zachwestlaw.com include:
- Adjusted color contrast on text elements to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Added descriptive link text and ARIA labels to icon-only links so that screen readers can identify each link’s purpose.
- Reviewed page structure and heading hierarchy to support keyboard navigation and screen-reader users.
- Added a “Skip to main content” link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Added visible keyboard focus indicators to all interactive elements.
- Cleaned up landmark structure so screen readers can navigate the page reliably.
- Provided clear page titles and meta descriptions for every page.
- Added descriptive alt text to images throughout the site.
- Designed our site to function across modern web browsers and assistive technologies.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content on the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Some PDF documents (case results, intake forms) may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are working to remediate older PDFs and ensure new PDFs are accessible at publication.
- Some embedded third-party content (maps, video) may not meet the same accessibility standards as our own content.
